50 hour Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training
with Mel Mackintosh
This is a very special opportunity to train in an area where yoga teachers have a unique capacity to influence birthing culture in Australia.
Mel Mackintosh has been inspired to create this training, largely due to the rising trend of C-Sections and intervention-based births, which is having a detrimental effect upon how satisfied parents are with the experience of birthing their babies.
Equally, Mel is concerned by the lack of understanding around how critical it is, to the health of the whole family unit, for there to be optimal support in the postnatal period, and how rarely this occurs in Australia.
Mel wants all prenatal/postnatal yoga teachers and everyone who works with birthing women to be advocates for lasting change! The intention is for more women to experience a safe and joyous birthing experience and to receive optimal, postnatal support, not because they are lucky, but because it is a non-negotiable part of birthing.
This yoga teacher training is open to all yoga teachers and to those who regularly work with birthing women; no previous teaching experience is necessary.
This training may be particularly useful for already qualified yoga teachers and anyone who is already qualified to work with birthing women in approved settings, such as midwives, doulas and Pilates teachers.
By completing this training you may register as a qualified Prenatal Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance International Registry, provided you have completed a recognised Diploma of Yoga Teaching.
If you are not already qualified as a yoga teacher, you may still complete this training, however, in completing this training, you are not qualified to teach yoga to adults unless you have completed a minimum 200 hours Diploma of Yoga Teaching such as AYA’s.
Mel would love to talk with you if you have any questions about this training, so please call her on 0413 298 132 or email melanie@australianyogaacademy.com
