I recently completed AYA’s pre/post natal YTT. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the course. Mel’s instruction was in depth but completely accessible. Now having a better knowledge of this aspect of Yoga makes me feel more comfortable as a teacher. I cannot recommend the course enough. AYA brilliant as always!

Prenatal Yoga

This was the second course I have done with Mel, and I cannot thank her enough for the wealth of knowledge and passion that she shares through her teaching of Pre and Postnatal Yoga, and all things birth! The course was so well presented and inclusive and, most importantly, very practical, and I am looking forward to putting it all into practice with new found confidence! Thank you, Mel!

Completing AYA’s 50-hour Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training has been one of the most emotionally and spiritually impactful experiences I’ve had on my journey as a yoga teacher.

I came into this training carrying my own wounds from my twin birthing experience – wounds I didn’t realise were still waiting to be witnessed. Throughout the course, certain teachings, conversations, and practices brought these tender places to the surface. Instead of turning away, I felt gently held and supported, which allowed me to lean in. What could have felt overwhelming became an unexpected doorway into deeper understanding and healing.

The facilitators approached pregnancy and birth with such reverence, honouring them as sacred rites of passage rather than purely physical events. This perspective resonated so deeply with me. Their teachings celebrated the female body’s intelligence, the intuitive wisdom of birthing, and the importance of empowering choice and agency throughout pregnancy and birth.

The blend of anatomy, functional movement, breathwork, and embodied learning was delivered with so much sincerity and heart. I left feeling inspired not only to support pregnant students with more confidence, but also to help them reclaim their voice and sense of sovereignty in their birthing journey. In many ways, this course helped me reclaim parts of myself too.

What I received was more than technical knowledge – it felt like a healing space, a remembrance, and an awakening. I walked away with a deeper connection to my own story and a renewed commitment to supporting others with compassion, presence, and respect.

AYA’s Prenatal YTT is a truly transformative experience, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who feels called to this path – whether for teaching or personal growth.

This course far exceeded my expectations and left me feeling inspired. From the minute I stepped foot into the studio I was welcomed, seen and heard by the teachers and other students – which I now call friends.

The content was in depth and so much more than just yoga – we delved into many aspects of being pregnant and birthing in Australia which has really informed how I would like to facilitate pre/postnatal classes. I enjoyed the course so much I didn’t want it to end.
