Teacher Training During Temporary Government Shut Down

All Yoga Teacher Training Programs at AYA continue during the government shutdown and future courses will go ahead as planned.

Although our studio classes are currently prevented from running under government rules, as an educational institution, our YTT programs can continue on campus as normal while observing the rule to have 4 square meters of space per person. Our teacher training room is 135 sqm, allowing us to have up to 34 people in our training room. Our teacher training groups are limited to 25 people, so we are well within the rule.

We are already set up and live streaming teacher training classes, so students have the option to continue to attend in person or they can stay home and tune in live from there.

Our live streams are through Zoom, which is a fantastic platform and extremely simple to use. We send you a link before each session and all you have to do is click on it and you can tune in live from your pc, laptop, phone or tablet.

During the session, we can hear you so you can speak to us or alternatively you can type your questions to us.

The live streams continue in the regular timeslots and are also recorded, so you can also watch them at a later time.

The live streaming is working well and the students who are tuning in online have enjoying it.

We continue to deliver an amazing program and experience for all our teacher trainees.

AYA’s Diploma of Yoga Teaching, 200 hour training program, is run in 2 formats: 4 months part time or 1 Month Full Time Online Intensive.

Upon completion of our teacher training program you will be extremely well placed to create an amazing career anywhere in the world.

AYA’s YTT Program is based on Patanjali’s Ashtanga or 8 Limbed Approach. The course explores asana, pranayama, meditation, yogic philosophy, practical teaching methods, anatomy and physiology.

The program is not only for those wishing to become yoga teachers but anyone who would like to gain a deeper understanding of the full science and practice of this ancient philosophy.

To cater for the needs of all students we provide three different ways to complete the course (please note the course is identical regardless of the stream you choose).

4 Month Part Time Program (Daytime)

1 Full Day per week for 15 Weeks
Tuesday’s 8am to 5pm
Commencing March 

4 Month Part Time Program (Evenings)

1 Night Per Week for 14 Weeks
+ 4 x Full Weekends

Tuesday’s 6-10pm
